Hummingbird Essential has been awarded two distinguished landscape design awards, The Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum Xeriscape Award, and the ALCA Judge’s Award. This project emphasizes sustainability and compatibility with the surrounding desert ecosystem.  With a casual flagstone patio extension surrounded by a richly colorful desert garden that is very low water and maintenance, this garden entertains its owners daily as native pollinators such as hummingbirds and butterflies make this landscape their home. The Penstemon and cactus blooms in this garden were exquisite during the Vail Garden Tour of 2012.
